DescriptionI like it to think about the idea what sculpture is and could be about in a really processorientated way. In my works I often use fragile, everyday materials that are derived from
the vocabulary of domesticity and combine them with traditional sculpture techniques. The
resulting work – via a very specific amalgam of materials, shapes and objects- brings
forth a new, metaphysical result.
Often the opposites of change and control are defining the shapes of my sculptures. It could
be a mole hole tunnel, wood pecker hole or a pocket of my pair of jeans which I see as
ready made molds to cast and play with the form of absence. Organic figures dancing
through the room and getting a strong presence all of a sudden. Also shells of body parts
get sculptures when arms and legs get dipped several time into hot wax like a string of a
candle and over an exaggeration start building abstract claws and heels.
