DescriptionSTREET WALKER SERIES: studies in public spaceEine Videokamera ist "Teil" meiner Hand während ich vordefinierter Grundrisse oder Strassen einer Stadt abgehe. Die Umgebung wird durch Bild und Ton dokumentiert, notiert, registriert.
Der Grundriss/die Strasse determiniert die Choreographie; mein Geh-Rhythmus determiniert den Takt und die Zeit; die Kameraposition determiniert die Bildsequenzen. Der aufgenommene Originalton wird Ton meines Videos.
Die Ergebnisse des STREET WALKER SERIES sind Diagramme und Stadtpläne, Filme ohne schnitt, und Digitaldrücke von systematisch ausgewählten "frozen frames". Sowohl Bild und Ton des Videofilmes als auch Digitaldrücke sind Zufällig und abhängig von Site und Situation, Choreographie und Zeitstruktur jedes "walk"s.
A video camera is part of my hand as I walk predefined groundplans/streets of a city. The surroundings are documented registered, noted by image and sound.
The groundplans/streets determine the choreography, my walking rhythm determines the beat and time structure; the camera position determines the image sequences. The original tone of the environment is the sound of the video.
Results of the STREET WALKER SERIES are diagrams using site maps, films (image and audio) running without editing and digital prints of a systematically chosen selection of frozen frames.
The images and audio of the film as well as the print images are coincidental to the site and situation, choreography and time structure of each walk.

"Die Ort Fürstlich Drehna prägen zwei unterschiedlich Bereiche: der Schloßbezirk.......und das Dorf mit dem charakteristischen Doppelanger…." (Kulturlandschaft Fürstlich Drehna)
Der Anger in Fürstlich Drehna ist in Privatbesitz und bebaut. Das Projekt FENCES macht den Anger wieder erlebbar; durch die neu Definition nehmen die Einheimischen der Anger und sein ursprünglicher Zweck wahr.
Zäune (FENCES) sind meistens als Schutz oder Versteck benützt; sie schließen von Privatgrund aus und unterstreichen diese Ausschließung. Zäune waren als Thema und Symbol für die Neudefinition des Angers als öffentlichen Raum verwendet. Sie haben symbolisch die Grenzen des Angers und die historischen Form des Doppelangers definiert.
VIDEO / FENCE: eine Video aus der STREET WALKER SERIES definiert die Grenzen des Angers und die historische Form des Doppelangers anders.
DIGITALDRÜCKE / FENCE Die Laufzeit (6'30") und Reihenfolge des "WALK"s waren Determinanten für die Auswahl von 25 "frozen frames". Eine Auswahl aus diesen 25 frozen frames ist ausgestellt.

The Green in Fürstlich Drehna is, for the most part, privately owned and built on. The project FENCES redefines the Green as public space; the village inhabitants again become aware of its original use.
FENCES are usually used to protect, to hide; they close one out of private ground and underline this exclusion……..FENCES were used as theme and symbol for the new definition of the Green as public space. They, symbolically, defined the borders and the historical form of the Green.
VIDEO / FENCE: a video from the STREET WALKER Series defines these borders and historical form in yet another manner..
DIGITAL PRINTS / FENCE: The time (6'30") and walk sequence were the determinants for the selection of 25 "FROZEN FRAMES". A selection from these 25 "FROZEN FRAMES" was chosen for exhibition.
