DescriptionUlla is a hand-woven textile in cotton. The artist has collected flakes of architectural paint from various buildings for years, and Ulla has the colour of one of these architectural paint samples. In order to achieve the correct colour, the artist “mixed” two differently coloured yarns in the loom. They are interlaced meticulously to create a third colour. The resulting colour is in fact is an optical illusion, and if one looks closely the structure that generates the apparent colour is reviled. The subdivision of the plane has a texture that captures light in a way that enables the work to change its hue when viewed from different angles in space. The work challenges our visual perception.[[missing key: detailactions.not-available-label]]
